Sen. Jon Kyl to Succeed John McCain in the Senate

Former Senator Jon Kyl will fill John McCain’s vacated seat, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey said. Kyl told reporters he is willing to serve until the end of the session. When he previously served, he said he had no intention of returning.

Ducey said, “There is no one in Arizona more prepared to represent our state in the U.S. Senate than Jon Kyl. He understands how the Senate functions, and will make an immediate and positive impact benefiting all Arizonans.”

Kyl served as an Arizona senator from 1995 through 2013.
