Health Experts Say Parents Need to Limit Kids' Screen Time

The American Heart Association says parents need to drastically limit their kids’ screen time.

A study published in the AHA’s journal Circulation found too much screen time is associated with obesity in kids. Current estimates are 8 to 18-year-olds spend more than 7 hours a day on screens. The AHA says parents need to help children and teens to get no more than 1-2 hours of screen time daily. Screens in this case include smartphones, tablets, computers, videos games, and TV.

The AHA says parents can make this happen by setting a good example and limit their own screen time as well as setting screen time rules.
