China's Military 'Likely Training for Strikes' Against U.S.

China is “gaining experience in critical maritime regions and likely training for strikes” against the U.S. and its allies, according to a Pentagon report.

In its annual report to Congress on China’s military developments, the Pentagon said the People’s Liberation Army is undergoing the most comprehensive force restructuring in its history. It is estimated China spent more than $190 million in 2017 on its military.

When it comes to the South China Sea, China has stopped its land reclamation, but continues to build infrastructure at three outposts, which may be capable of supporting military operations.
