Why You Should Stop Wearing Ties
If wearing a tie is a standard part of your workday, you may want to think twice about keeping it on. New research shows neckties cut circulation to the brain by an average of 7.5%.
Published in the journal, Neuroradiology, the study recruited thirty volunteers that were divided in two groups. One group underwent MRI with a necktie, while the other went without. The New Scientist reports participants were told to make a Windsor knot and tighten it to the point of slight discomfort.
Forbes reports, the study found even after participants loosened their neckties, blood flow was still cut by 5.7%.
