Supreme Court Backs Religious Baker Who Refused to Make Cake for Gay Couple

The Supreme Court sided with the Colorado baker who did not want to make a cake for a same-sex wedding based on religious reasons. In a 7-2 decision, the justices said the Colorado Civil Rights Commission showed a hostility towards religion and violated baker Jack Phillips' first amendment rights when he was found to have violated Colorado’s anti-discrimination law in 2012.

The high court's decision doesn’t apply to any other case related to refusing service based on religious objections, just Phillips' situation.
