At Least 5 Dead, 3 Wounded at Maryland Newspaper
At least five people are dead and several others are injured after a shooting at the Capital Gazette, a local newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland. Police said that the shooter was a white man armed with a long gun and is in custody.
Phil Davis, a reporter with the paper, detailed the horrific incident in a series of tweets. He said, “Gunman shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees.” “There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people get shot while you're under your desk and then hear the gunman reload.”
The Associated Press reports police recovered what is believed to be an explosive device from the building where the Capital Gazette is located. No word yet on a motive.
