Texas School Shooting Leaves 10 Dead, 10 Injured

Ten people were killed and ten others were injured in a school shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas. The suspected gunman has been identified as 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis, a student at Santa Fe. The Superintendent of the Santa Fe Independent School District said there were explosive devices found in the high school and in surrounding areas of the school.

The school district superintendent released a statement that reads in part, “Our community suffered a terrible tragedy at Santa Fe High School. Words cannot express the sorrow in our hearts for those we have lost.”

President Trump also expressed his sorrow during his remarks at the Prison Reform Summit.

“We grieve for the terrible loss of life and send our love and support to everyone affected by this absolutely horrific attack," Trump said.

 

 

According to the Santa Fe Independent School District, law enforcement authorities said Pagourtzis is being charged with capital murder and aggravated assault of a peace officer. He is being held at the Galveston County Jail on no bond.
