US Will Keep Troops in Syria, Despite Donald Trump's Reluctance

President Donald Trump has reluctantly agreed to keep roughly 2,000 U.S. troops in Syria, despite initially wanting to pull American forces from the country.

CNN reports Trump has stated he’s ready to withdraw troops from Syria, but his military commanders want to eliminate ISIS before pulling out. A senior official told NBC News Trump has agreed to keep U.S troops in Syria for an undetermined period of time.

According to Reuters, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats said the decision was made during an “all hands on deck” National Security Council meeting.
