President Donald Trump to Send National Guard Troops to Mexico Border

President Donald Trump will sign a proclamation for the deployment of National Guard troops along the southern border with Mexico to help with security.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen told reporters that border security is not a partisan issue. She said her department hopes the deployment will begin immediately.

During a working lunch with Baltic leaders, Trump spoke about his concerns with the border. “We cannot have people flowing into our country illegally, disappearing and by the way never showing up to court," he said.

Fox News reports this isn’t the first time troops have been deployed to the southern border to help with border patrol -- President George W.Bush and Barack Obama both sent troops.
