For the First Time Ever, the FDA Issues a Mandatory Recall

The FDA issued a mandatory recall for all products containing powdered kratom from Triangle Pharmanaturals LLC, of Las Vegas, Nevada, over possible salmonella contamination.

According to a FDA press release, this is the first time the agency has issued a mandatory recall order over ‘contaminated food’ since Triangle Pharmanaturals LLC did not cooperate with the FDA’s request for a voluntary recall.

Kratom is a herbal drug that is used to treat pain and may help opiod addicts. It is sold in different forms, including leaves, pills, capsules, powder and tea.
