President Trump Threatens to Make Mexican Immigration Control a Condition of NAFTA

President Donald Trump threatened to make Mexican immigration enforcement a condition of the new North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA, while at the same time saying he wants to stop what he called “caravans” of people from entering into the U.S. illegally.

Trump tweeted, “Despite the Democrat inspired laws on Sanctuary Cities and the Border being so bad and one sided, I have instructed the Secretary of Homeland Security not to let these large Caravans of people into our Country. It is a disgrace. We are the only Country in the World so naive!”

He also added, “Our Country cannot accept what is happening! Also, we must get Wall funding fast,” in reference to his proposed U.S.-Mexico border wall.
