Southwest Hero Pilot Was One of Navy's First Female Fighter Pilots

The pilot who landed the Southwest plane that left a passenger dead and seven others injured after one of the jet’s engines blew, was one the U.S. Navy’s first female fighter pilots. While Southwest has yet to name the pilot, multiple media outlets, including The Associated Press, say she’s Tammie Jo Shults. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
