On Tax Day the IRS is Experiencing Technical Difficulties

On the same day that taxes are due, the Internal Revenue Service is experiencing technical difficulties. The IRS’ “Direct Pay” option, which allows taxpayers to pay their taxes directly from a checking or savings account, says the option is “currently unavailable.” Parts of the eFile system are also down.

Politico reports acting IRS Commissioner David Kautter said the agency is working to resolve the issue and taxpayers should file as normal.
