The number one place on the list is Egypt. After expenses you’ll have $1,130 remaining. GoBankingRates says Egypt has the lowest average monthly housing cost at $157.70. Food and utilities are cheap as well. The second country on the list is India, where you’ll have $1,904 left after expenses. Monthly average costs are only $318.92. It’s the cheapest country to live in before retirement, too. Algeria is in the third spot. The Social Security payment remaining after expenses is $1,028. Besides its low costs, Algeria also has a number of historic sites like Roman ruins, that make it a good place to live.
