Donald Trump Says Second Amendment Won't Be Repealed

President Donald Trump tweeted the Second Amendment ‘will never be repealed’ and dismissed a Supreme Court Justice’s call for the repeal.

Trump’s move is in response to Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens’ op-ed in The New York Times saying a repeal of the Second Amendment would do more to weaken the National Rifle Association’s ability ‘to stymie legislative debate and block constructive gun control legislation than any other available option.”

Trump went on to say in his tweet that ‘NO WAY’ would a repeal happen. He said Democrats want to see the repeal happen and that’s why, ‘We need more Republicans in 2018 and must ALWAYS hold the Supreme Court!’

A recent poll found sixty percent of Americans are opposed to repealing the amendment.
