Donald Trump Privately Pushes for Military to Pay for Border Wall

President Donald Trump is privately pushing for the U.S. military to pay for his proposed U.S.-Mexico border wall, although publicly he previously said Mexico should pay for it.

As the Washington Post first reported, Trump made the suggestion to advisors and House Speaker Paul Ryan during a private meeting. The spending bill the President signed last week doesn’t include funding for construction of the wall.

Trump tweeted, “Building a great Border Wall, with drugs (poison) and enemy combatants pouring into our Country, is all about National Defense. Build WALL through M!” According to the Post, the “M” stands for Military, not Mexico.
