Sitting too long may kill you, even if you exercise

Too many of us sit at a desk all day -- and now new research shows all that time in a chair could kill you -- even if you exercise.

The study published in Annals of Internal Medicine tracked the movements of nearly 8,000 adults 45 years of age or older. Over a four-year period, people who sat the most had twice the risk of dying than those who sat the least.

If you sit around a lot, researchers suggest getting up at least once every 30 minutes and move around to counteract the health risks that come from prolonged sedentary behavior.
