North Korea Launches Missile Capable of Reaching U.S.
North Korea launched a new intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching the United States on July 4. The IBCM has two stages that allows it to reach greater distances.
President Trump tweeted his frustration. Trump also continued to ask China for help, since the countries are allies. Meanwhile, North Korea’s state media said North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un, joked that the missile launch was an Independence Day gift to the United States.
The U.S. and South Korea conducted a joint exercise in response to the launch intended to serve as a warning against North Korean provocation.
