Breast Implants Can Cause Rare Cancer, FDA Says
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration says women can develop a rare form of cancer following breast implants. The FDA says the condition is called breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma and happens more often with textured breast implants. According to the FDA, nine women have died from BIA-ALCL. The FDA says out of 231 reports on the cancer with implant surface information, 203 were reported to be textured and 28 were smooth implants.
