Silicon Valley Tech Companies Fight Donald Trump's Travel Ban
Some of the nation's largest technology companies are joining in on the fight against President Trump's travel ban. The Washington Post reports nearly 100 Silicon Valley tech companies say the ban keeps some of the best minds from coming to the U.S.
The companies are joining former U.S. national security, foreign policy, and intelligence officials, and immigrant rights advocacy groups in asking the federal courts not to allow President Trump to reinstate his travel ban.
As of early Monday, the travel ban remained blocked. A federal appeal court rejected a request from the Justice Department to reinstate Trump's executive order after a lower judge in Seattle temporarily halted the ban.
In a statement, the former government officials said, "...We view the Order as one that ultimately undermines the national security of the United States, rather than making us safer."
Trump took to Twitter to respond. He said the judge opened America up to potential terrorists and puts the nation in peril.
Fox News reports the debate could be headed to the Supreme Court.
