Second U.S. Military Team was Near Niger Ambush Site: Pentagon

A second U.S. military team was near the site of the ambush in Niger that killed four U.S. soldiers, the Pentagon said.

The Pentagon is investigating the Oct. 4 attack that happened near the village of Tongo Tongo by a group of ISIS fighters. AFP reports officials said they had been on joint patrol when it happened.

Voice of America reports Pentagon officials still don’t know how the team came under attack and why it took them an hour to call for help.
