Donald Trump Advances Construction of Keystone, Dakota Access Pipelines

President Donald Trump will take executive action to advance construction of the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines.

The orders will fulfill Trump's campaign promises of approving the pipelines.

Bloomberg reports former President Barack Obama did not approve the Keystone pipeline and the Obama administration stopped work on the Dakota Access pipeline in North Dakota after Native Americans in the area protested.

The Keystone is owned by TransCanada Corp. and if built would run from Alberta to refineries in Texas.

The Energy Transfer Partners Dakota Access pipeline is currently under construction and route starts in North Dakota and goes through several states and ends in Illinois.
