Magnitude 6.9 Earthquake Struck Fukushima, Japan
A 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck northern Japan off Fukushima Tuesday. A tsunami warning for waves of up to 10 feet has been issued. Residents have been evacuated.
This is the same area that was hit by a tsunami in 2011 after a earthquake. The tsunami destroyed the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant releasing radioactive material. The Fukushima disaster is the largest nuclear disaster since the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.
