LBN’s Ryan Gaumont reports that another mass shooting has taken place, this time in San Bernardino, California. The latest massacre occurred at the Inland Regional Center, a facility for people with developmental disabilities. The shooting occurred Wednesday during a holiday party for county employees.
The assailants killed fourteen people and fled the scene. A manhunt ensued, and two suspects— Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 27—were killed in a shootout a few miles away from the scene of the massacre. A third suspect has been taken into custody, although it is not clear that the suspect was involved in the shootings.
Farook and Malik were married and had a 6-month-old daughter. Farook was an environmental inspector with the county health department. He attended the party Wednesday morning, left angry, and returned about 11 a.m. with Malik. The pair carried .223 caliber rifles and handguns. After the attack, the couple drove back into San Bernardino to a residential neighborhood and got into a firefight with more than twenty police officers. After the battle ended, officers discovered three explosive devices at the scene.
