Prosecutors Seek 12.5 Years for Jared Fogle

LBN’s Emily Collins reports that federal prosecutors will ask for a stiff sentence for Jared Fogle, the former Subway spokesman. Fogle pled guilty to one count of illicit sexual conduct with a minor and one count of distribution and receipt of child pornography, as LBN previously reported. Prosecutors have requested a twelve year, seven month sentence for Fogle in hopes of sending a strong message to anyone who exploits children. As part of a plea deal, prosecutors had agreed to a shorter sentence for the 38-year old father, who could have faced a sentence of 50 years. When Fogle’s sentence ends, prosecutors want him to be put on supervised release for the rest of his life.
