Angelina Jolie Faces Copyright Infringement From Blood and Honey Movie, With Dr. Adli of Adli Law Group, L.A.

James Braddock, author of "The Soul Shattering" is suing actress Angelina Jolie, GK Films, Film District Distribution, Scout Films and Edin Sarkic for copyright violation for the production of the movie "In the Land of Blood and Honey."

Dr. Dariush Adli, of the Adli Law Group, in Los Angeles, California represents Mr. Braddock in a case where he feels there are "too many similarities and fine points in the movie that it's difficult to believe there was no use of his client's book."

In copyright infringement cases, there are two aspects that the courts will look at, which involve similarity and access.  Dr. Adli says that there are similarities between the movie and the book that involve the storyline, characters, scenes and cultural aspects and it would be "too far-fetched to claim there was no access or use of the book."

In fact, Dr. Adli says they have evidence of access, in which one of Jolie's co-producers met with Mr. Braddock and discussed various aspects of the movie, including plot, characters, cultural significance, context and accuracy.  Jolie denies the allegations and claims the movie was based on her and the studio's own independent research, says Dr. Adli, saying further that this is not a typical story you can come up with, as there are too many cultural and historical aspects, as well as stark similarities of characters and the roles they play in the movie.

Dr. Adli says that after the first hearing, Jolie will be disposed and based on that, he believes his client will be exonerated and they'll be able to settle sooner rather than later.

Dr. Dariush Adli is the founder and owner of the Adli Law Group, P.C. in Los Angeles, California, which focuses primarily on patent litigation.  For more information on the Adli Law Group, go to  Dr. Adli spoke with The Legal Broadcast Network, providing online, on-demand legal video content.
